Loud and Clear Qld held our first meeting for 2024 on the 14th February (Valentines Day). This is a day to celebrate love and kindness. People with disabilities, just like everyone else, deserve love and appreciation for who they are. Our members embrace loving and inclusive values.
Our members had a very busy meeting. We talked about our meeting rules and member roles. The key points will be used to update our “Good Meeting Guide” and our “Meeting Agenda and Minutes with our roles and jobs”. These guides help us to work together as a team and support us to strengthen our personal and working relationships with each other.
Payge has written a letter to the NDIS Minister Bill Shorten after we met him at the NDIS Review Town Hall in Brisbane. The letter explains who we are at Loud and Clear Qld and what we do as self advocates. Each of our Loud and Clear members added to the letter by writing (in their own words) why Loud and Clear Qld is important to them.The letter will highlight to Mr Shorten the importance of self advocacy groups, and will hopefully encourage the government to continue providing much needed funding to groups like Loud and Clear Qld who support people with disabilities.
Our members have already started planning our Loud and Clear Qld Conference for 2024. We developed our theme which will be
“Dream Big – Be The Best I Can Be”.
Loud and Clear Qld has developed our “About Loud and Clear Qld” guide. This guide will give you an understanding of who we are and what we do.
